Bollywood Movies New Releases Of 2008! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is merely two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (which is why I offered you a list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving uses a different twist. Neither of these is specific to Thanksgiving, but they relate to some themes from the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving and for any day in the year.

Big oil company propaganda having a heart! Just the free movie we want for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one from the most lyrical American films ever produced. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation within the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress to "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of a Cajun boy and his family, living for the bayous in such a way of life that we can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land towards the oil company, which comes in, drills, and instead gives off everything exactly like it was, clean and unspoiled with the exception that the family has a little more money. (Yes, it absolutely was funded with the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends most of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating along the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, regarding his pet raccoon. He never wears an existence preserver or shoes... doesn't also have a cell phone to contact case he gets having problems. There is not much story, merely a celebration (such stunning grayscale photography that you might well wonder what are the big deal is all about color) of your way of life that's no longer with us.
All with the actors were amateurs, and then for most, this became their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who unquestionably boy, was moving into a FEMA trailer along with his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their house. (source). He had a chance at fame in the movies, but which he stayed where he was from and apparently knew as a kid an appreciation of family (a married relationship of over five decades) reflects why I consider The Louisiana Story an appropriate free movie for just one of our most family-friendly holidays.

A grayscale silent film that ends with a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, exactly what every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have 3 good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc in this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was available. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died believing that the last copy have been destroyed. In a little weirdness that sounds a lot more like a movie as opposed to truth, a virtually complete print was found in 1981 in a very janitor's closet of the Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful we can watch this magnificent film, on many lists in the greatest films of them all, at no cost online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered a psychological breakdown throughout the making of this film, and she or he never made another film. Pauline Kael (more), a notoriously demanding film critic, declared Falconetti's performance "may are the finest performance ever documented on film."

I will bring that a film that deals using a person who had such strong beliefs - and accepted the results - is definitely an appropriate film for Thanksgiving... or everyday.
